Quilt Project Headcount

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread

Hi! I am trying to get a final headcount on the quilters. I think there are fourteen all together. My list now includes:

Joanie, Terri, Sheryl, Amelia Kay, Nan, Sher, Wendy, Sissy, Jo-anne, Sheile, Billie and Lynelle, plus Kirstean and myself.

I will try to get an e-mail to each to comnfirm or deny! Due to my having to be out of town this week, I havn't been able to get a personal e-mail to each of you-if you could send me one, that would be great! Also, for others, if you are not here and are interested-sign up quickly!

Right now it looks like fourteen- I think 12 inch blocks with a 1/4 inch sean allowance, in the block of your choice using patriotic colors/theme.

Do y'all want-to make up fourteen blocks and exchange or should we do two groups of seven? Each person only doing and exchanging 7, Kristean would exchange half and I would do half. Personally, I would like to do the whole fourteen, but I know for some fourteen blocks is a daunting proposition and I want everyone to enjoy this! Is April 30 enough time?

I would like each one of us to send a little bio/ info sheet about yourself-I'll send more details about that, I can corralate them and make a little booklet to send back with your blocks. It would be nice if each person could sign her block-or, perhaps little signed tags that each could work into her quilt. Any other suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for bearing with me this week-its been a crazy one.

Kelly, either way is fine with me, just give us enough time to get the blocks completed. We all understand about the crazy weeks, months, even years. I love the idea about the book. That would be neat. thanks for all your hard work.

I, too would like to do the whole 14. I already have my block picked out. Now off to the fabric store!! I always love an excuse to go fabric shopping! One question are we doing 100% cotton and prewashing again?

Don't forget I need to know what the heck I'm doing before I start!!! I think this is going to be fun, but I don't want to screw up and mess anyone else up. How does this work, for myself and others who have never participtaed? Is it a round robin, where you pass the quilt around for others to add to, or is this just peices that someone will put together, or just small quilts?

14 is fine with me, too. Who do we send them to this time?

Hi Kelly, Yep, count me in on 14 too. Just two things. For me..April 30 will be pushing it. We only go to town once or twice a month and also just time wise..I will be scared that I cannot get them done in time..but I sure will give it a good try! Also, I just got done measuring the last bunch of squares, and all but about three were perfect six inchers. I am not sure that the seam allowance will work out, as almost all the womens squares the last time were without it. Am I saying this right?

Thanks again! And hope this week is going much better for you than last week. Is grandma better?

Oh my Kelly. I just got on the other forum and saw where your grandmother has gone home to Father. I am sorry I did not see that earlier. Sorry for your loss..glad for your grandmothers gain. You are in my thoughts.

Sounds good to me. Are we doing the one with the blocks and a SASE? The 12 inch blocks with a seam allowance would be 12 1/2 inch blocks right? I will get started right away!
