Gaboon Viper from Africa??

if we are talking the longest recorded fangs,, anaconda would be my bet,, 50 foot long snake,, has to have some big ems. If we are talking biggest for its size,, the southeast pacific tree snake, not sure its correct name

Mitch, no I didn't see National Geographic (unfortunately) but living in Africa as I did for a while, we were always on the lookout for snakes. That viper did not live in the area I did, but we had many a discussion on snakes as I recall - we were always on the lookout for mambas where I lived. Just about every morning there was one waiting for me at the school - it liked to lay in between the screen door & the wooden door, so I kept a broom outside the door, so I could shoo it away on my way in! It always kept me on my toes! ;)
