Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep animals out of the garbage? I've got a zoo nearby that seems to let their tenants out at night to forage my leftovers. Any herbs or oils that will repel certain animals? ....besides the oil of WD40 on a connabear trap? lol

We used heavy metal trash cans with bungee cords streached across the top. That seemed to work pretty well. Oddly enough, since we have moved out here, critters don't get into the trash-it seemed the problem grows in proportion to how many other people there are around. Maybe animals pick up thier bad habits?

The bungee cord keeps the coons out of the cat food. Ammonia sprayed on trash bag etc. keeps dogs away.

Try the bitter apple spray feed and pet stores sell for keeping the dog from chewing on stuff. Works excellant on dogs and other mammals for me.
