Garden Sayings

Does anyone have a favorite garden saying? I'm looking for something to paint on my new potting bench. Thanks and happy gardening.

I painted "Our Bloomin' Nest" on a flat rock that's leaned up against the raised flower bed in front of our house. I also painted a few very unprofessional looking flowers along the side. (Iam not very artistic to say the least). Crude but I like it.

Oh, and I've also seen......Bloom where you're planted......Tread lightly upon the earth......Angels go where flowers grow.... I'll try to think of some others. I've seen a lot of them over the years. You could always just say, "Welcome to my Garden".

"Thyme in my garden, is thyme well spent." My aunt gave me a trivet that reads.."The kiss of the sun for pardon, the song of the birds for mirth, one is nearer God's heart in a garden than any where else on earth.".... Or "Time began in a garden."

Give a weed an inch and it takes a yard. ** Plant Somnething- Make the world a Better Place. ** My Garden was at its best Last week, sorry you missed it. ** Down the Garden Path I go, Pulling weeds Row by Row. ** Down the Garden Path I go, Planting seeds Row by Row. ** Some people Pray, others Meditate, I Garden. **

My garden would be perfect if I didn't have to work! **

I always liked "Beware the Agapanthus," but that's not really for a garden bench I guess, more for a garden gate.

Just about this time of year is when I want to make a big sign to put outside that says "Plant in comfort - Harvest in purgatory." It's way too easy to let cool spring weather lead me into folly that I'll regret come June when it's 95 degrees and 90% humidity.

The other saying I'd like to print on business cards and give to friends, acquaintances and coworkers that says "Do NOT put out frost sensitive plants before Easter!" One of my coworker's husbands spent an entire weekend putting out his tomatoes, peppers, and other stuff the last week of February and naturally lost it all when it froze hard while they were out of town.

Can't think of any cute stuff this morning.

Gardeners do it in the soil. Old gardeners never die they just go to seed.

I have just made a garden sign with (love grows here) flowers and birds painted on it.

I had a friend make me a slate paintd w/flowers and vines that says "He who makes a garden works hand in hand with God" Douglas Malloch.

I found it in an ORGANIC GARDENING mag some years ago.It is one of my favorite possesions.
