Structure of Sigma lens

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I have a Sigma AF 3.5-5.6 24-70mm Aspherical. But its quality isn't good, so I bring it to repair shop. They told me that my lens were fitted in wrong way, so they have to arrange its lens. But I lost my structure of it. If you have it, please scan it to you computer and send to me! I'm very glad to receive you answer! Thank you in advance!

Is this some sort of joke?

If it isn't you're being scammed by the repair shop in a very weird way. What the hell does lens "structure" mean?

Are they saying that they put the lens elements in the wrong order? That sounds like the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. And now this shop is going to charge you for putting the elements back in the correct order? Yeah, right. And how the hell did they come to the conclusion that the arrangement is wrong if they don't have a copy of the original "structur" in the first place? I would get the heck out of that shop as fast as I could and never return.

Yeah, it sounds like they're giving you the hose. I'd have it checked out by Sigma if you really think something is wrong with it. They're fairly prompt with repairs.
