Pat Welsh was the voice of E.T....but one of the set crewmen provided the sound of E.T. burping.

I find conflicting information, the person you mentioned is listed as uncredited but then so is the actress I am asking about, the explanation I just read indicates they both had a hand at different times during the filming.

If you goto google and enter: E.T. movie voice, the answer will be both Pat Welsh and Debora Winger, both uncredited.
