This reminded me of a county judge who got caught and arrested for stealing a universal remote control for his T.V. at a department store. The story kind of disappeared from public view. But I imagine he had to stand before himself and probably just gave himself the sentence of community service at his golfing club.

Congress I'd say

"Pro" and "Con" being opposites, makes me think about the words "Progress" and "Congress". Maybe I'll just go tend the garden instead :>)

Unless one of the responses is right ( ones I would have guessed), I have no idea. LOL

Believe it or not, they're all former Presidents.

Wishing you enoough.

I vote for members of Congress as well. Don't have that many former presidents. Jack

YES, it is Congress ! I want to know more than the statistic--I want names to match the number. Why, you say ? Because I'm going to enact some violence on them--I'm going to beat them over their heads with a weapon called a---- BALLOT !!!

I checked this out at snopes.com. This post has been floating around the internet since 1999 so what truth it did contain is probably out of date by now. Without any names or dates it's difficult to confirm any of the charges. Not that I think that Congress is a house of angels, but why rely on internet rumors when we have enough FACTS to collar most of the jerks? :)

I believe The New American magazine was the first to compile this information complete with names and charges, and yes, it was a few years ago. I am not sure if they have a searchable archive at their website. We can expect them to publish an updated version at some point soon.

Who are They?

Ooooh! I know! I know! They're televangelists! Right?

-- Aimless (aimless@national_raffle_association.org), March 15, 2002.

Well I would guess that must be how far behind that I am. You say---1999 ? I got this handed to me at work yesterday. Old age is slowly wearing me down. What year is it anyhow ?

-- Joel Rosen (JoelnBecky@webtv.net), March 16, 2002.

I remember this the first time it hit cyberspace. My first guess was NFL players!

-- Bob Fritz (BobFritz@attbi.com), December 14, 2002.

A corollary I've heard is this: what city has the US's highest murder rate? Also, the highest incidences of drunk driving and drug abuse. I've also heard that it's got the highest rate of prison rape.
