What are some of Egdar Allen Poe's personal experiences that influenced his work?

a lot of people that he loved had died and after his beloved wife Lorena died, he seemed to be even more sad and he didn't really write that many horror stories, instead they were tragic and mourning his loss. even before that though, he wrote horrors because he was slowly going crazy, he had lost so many loved ones, and he used rugs and was an alcoholic.

In my opinion, Edgar Allen poe one of the greatest authors. He wrote short stories with such passion that it kept u reading .It's admazing how much imagination and detail he put in his stories. When ever I hear someone is going to read one or more of his stories Ihave to be there even if I read it,I'ii read again with them.
