Texas Hash Recipe Wanted

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread

Years ago I had a recipe called Texas Hash. I have lost the recipe. It was made with hamburger, rice, and tomatoes or tomatoe sauce and some other things and was baked as a casserole in the oven. I think the recipe might have been in one of the older Better Homes and Gardens or Betty Crocker Cookbook (in the 70's maybe??). It was very good and filling and made a bunch. It was kind of along the lines of a spanish rice..kind of..well, sort of. Does anyone have the recipe?

Glad I could help. About 2 years ago, I started holding back on the chili powder and using diced tomatoes and green chilis for the tomatoes.

I used to make this dish all the time, then we moved and I lost some of my recipes. The only difference in the one I made and Jay's recipe is that I sprinkled the top with cheese. It was so good! Thanks!
