HI i would like to know about joining union I have 17 years of exp. In roughing and finishing, i would like to know cost of taking test how long in takes or if I have to take one

I have no way of telling where you reside so can only write in generalities... As far as I know there has never been any charge for the journeyman test. Our criteria to take the journeymen test is a minimum of four years experience doing trade related work. In general the test closely follows the test a graduating apprentice takes. I suggest you look in the yellow pages under the 'Labor Organizations' classification to locate a Carpenter hall in area for more specific information.
