Selling goat milk raised dairy steers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I'm raising dairy calves off my goat milk . I won't be able to keep these calves after they are weaned, I don't have enough property. I sold a few year before last by advertising in the paper. I need ideas. Is it feasible to go into partners with someone that has pasture, how would you split it up, say I raised them until they are eating good and ready to eat grass and then they live out the summer on someones pasture and we sell in the fall.

What do you do with your calves? Thanks in advance and have a nice day

Sherry,

e-mail me privately and let me know what you ahve in mind and where you are located. We have 2 pastures we won't be using.

When we take on cow borders we get 5-10 bucks a head each month.

We are thinking of raising beef by initially feeding with goat milk and then feeding out. How long will it take and when should we butcher them?
