greenspun.com : LUSENET : A Country Singletree : One Thread

Hi everyone, my name is Terry. I have been lurking here since Jay started this site. I am a single female, age 44. All of my children are grown and living on their own, unless you count the four legged kind. I have a dog and 2 cats. As I type this my cat Felix is sitting on my lap trying to help. I am currently living in town while saving to get back out into the country. My ex got my homestead in the divorce so I am kindof starting over.

Even though I am in town right now, I garden and teach my neighbors about gardening. They are amazed at how much I grow in a small space. Sometimes I am too. I really miss having chickens, turkeys, pigs and goats. I read about everyone and their animals and it makes me long to get back to the land. I have tried to make the best of being in town. All my neighbors animals come out to greet me everyday when I get home from work, but perhaps that is because I always have a treat or two.

Anyway, I just wanted to say HI.

Hi, Terry, welcome aboard. Where about are you located now, and where was your homestead?

I currently live in Kent, Washington. My homestead was in Sumner Washington (western Washington)

I have never been in Western Washington, but at one time, all four of my sisters and their families lived in Kirkland, Washington, on Puget sound. I used to go by/through Kent on the way to and from Kirland, as the kids and I vacationed yearly up there with family.

Oops, I meant to say I had never been to Eastern Washington. Kirkland is obviously in Western Washington.

Terry,

Welcome to the 'tree. Hope we can help you feel less out of it. Please post about your urban homesteading ventures. I would love hearing of them. I am heavy into BISF experimentation here to maximize my 1 1/2 acre of ground.

Welcome Terry! This is a fun group. You gotta watch-out for that Jay, he has worms (VBG). But feel free to dream your dreams here.
