While I was waiting to talk to my wife on Yahoo Messenger tonight, I wrote down this wacky couplet for a poetry exercise on another forum. (Her grandmother died a couple of weeks ago, so I sent her and our daughter to the U.S. She arrives back Friday morning, none too soon.) Anyway, the exercise had to include food and a famous person in the same poem. Reminded me....

The Pretzel Prez

The Secret Service rescues George from presidential threats,
But not from pretzel choking -- they were all out of Sucrets.

Okay, so I wasn't terribly inspired as I waited anxiously to talk to my beloved... Even Wordsworth wrote some tacky stuff, too.
