Today is day 28. Nine does due to have nest boxes put in today. Go out and do chores this morning and 2 does kindled on the wire. Hadnt put nest boxes in, was planning on doing it today. Never had does kindle on 28 days. Of course it has been in the teens all day and the kits were frozen solid. Oh well, snake food.

Me thinks you took too much for granted, there. The "norm" for the gestation period is: 28 to 32 days ... and which includes that 28th day! You should be putting the nest box in on the 26th day, instead, in order to cover those early deliverers.

My does have been doing something strange. They have been having one baby a day or even two early and then the rest later. The first one dies with or without a nest box. Any ideas on that?
