My goal

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I heard several years ago tht the average woman has 8 basic recipes and a couple for special occasions. Not so here. My goal was to try 20 new recipes, variations or methods, in 6 weeks. Well I'll be trying #19 this evening-Waffle House Hash Browns(got the reipe from copykat.com-in just 3 weeks. What can I say. I love to try new recipes.

The best so far has been Garlic Soup(I posted that one on Cooking and Crsafts), Chicken Noodle Soup, Quick Batter Biscuit(whole wheat) and Spicy White Bean Soup with Tomatoes- See reipe on the Bean Soup thread. All A+++ and then some

The worst was Indian Bean Bread, I'd give it lower than F-. Even the cats and chickens wouldn't touch it.

I had a couple originals, my favorite of those I'd give an A to, I was low on organic milk, it could have been a little creamier. Cauliflower Casserole. Definitely worth trying again The other being Beans and pork neck roast. Gary would give it an A+. I don't eat pork hardly ever.

I love it when a recipe works.

I too have been forcing myself to try new recipes Cindy. The other night I did the chickpea and maccaroni recipe that was in the CS magazine and the husband loved it.
