I really need your help ...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We have a big problem, Some things happened here last night ( we still live with inlaws.) that has made it evident, WE MUST MOVE. For the sake of our marriage, our childrens upbringing, and our sanity. Does anyone know of a homestead for rent, in any northern state. We will loose out on our 2 year plan. ( most of our planning falls though anyway so it is not a big deal.) We would be ready to go in about 4 or 5 weeks. We can pay any deposits now. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Please pray for us and our girls. As they are being exposed to some bad influences, and try as I might, they are starting to act on them. Thank you soooo much. Kristean

I have no homestead to offer, but I want to say "good for you!" about taking this step. I bet something wonderful is in store for your family.

This is a source that might have some contacts in the areas you are looking at, even though they are based in AR:

ATTRA Farming Internships & Apprenticeships, http://www.attra.org/attra- rl/index.html while this is for AR you might still contact them and ask about the area you are interested in, as they have programs overseas, also. Updated for 2002! For more than a decade, this one-of-a-kind resource has helped hundreds of family farms find interns and apprentices. The listing is free, and includes contact information and detailed descriptions of the farm, room and board arrangements, timeframes, etc. The list is updated at the beginning of each year. If you would like to list your farm in the next update, contact Katherine Adam at NCAT/ATTRA, P.O. Box 3657, Fayetteville, AR 72702, 800-346-9140 kadam@ncat.org

Best of luck, Kristean. Remember, things usually happen for a reason. Maybe the good Lord is opening this door so you don't have to wait so long. I will bet that once you get moved and settled you will wonder why you didn't make the move way before then. Just be sure you get what will work out...not something out of desperation.

My family will remember yours in prayer and that you are lead to just the right place! I will be thinking of you and please keep us posted!

Did I miss where you are located? Hard to help if your on the other side of the country (or other side of the globe)

Best of luck. Sorry I don't have any prospects to offer.

This is not a good time to lecture you, so please take this kindly - it's helpful to actually include some hint of the type of help in your message title (I often just skip titles such as this one, but was bored today...) and also include a general location in a message such as this. Yes, you've posted here before & probably told us, but do you remember where I live? ;)

Anyhow, best of luck, --->Paul

Kristean, I've been there. I don't know of anything here but sending positive thoughts your way. If you need to vent, contact me off forum. I can certainly lend a sympathetic dear.

Have followed your posts for a while, and have gotten excited for you. I'm truly sorry for the recent problems, but to quote a favorite song..."God will make a way, when there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see-He will make a way for me. He will make a way"

I STILL think you're crazy looking for northern propety-SNOW-not a favorite 4 letter word in my book, but apparently is in yours. ;o}

Did you see this post? http://hv.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch- msg.tcl?msg_id=008A43 Might not be your cup of tea, but I thought you might have missed it. I do hope you find a happy place soon!

Someone posted the other day about apprentiships(sp?) opening with free room and board in NY. Check in the archives and see if it's something you might want.
