What to do with over processed canned applesgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread
I must have over processed my home canned apple slices this year because they are just way too soft for pies. Some are even kind of mushy. Short of making applesauce (I have more applesauce this year than I can use) what other ideas might you have for using up the canned apples?

I had some canned apples and no one was eating them much, so I put them in the blender added a quart of frozen strawberries, some honey and pureed them. Then I poured them on my dehydrator and made fruit leather. The kids loved it and ate it up in a hurry. I should make it again.

You COULD put them in a spice cake, to make apple cake.
