Date does not print on photo

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I have an EOS Rebel 2000 with date. A few months back I replaced the batteries of the camera with two duracell (small batteries as recommended). I found that after replacing the batteries the date does not get imprinted on the photo prints, but the date looks very clear on the camera itself. Is my camera having some defect? Please help.

Personally I don't see that as a problem! A sure fire way to ruin a great image is to have a date sitting in the bottom right hand corner ;-)

Personnally I do see the problem! I have a rebel 2000 with date and an 11 month old baby and I can sure tell you I have pictures of her at every month and lots in between and can also tell you to the day when they where taken!!!!!! Sorry I don't have the technical answer to your question!

Check your instruction manual. The clock/date display is always ON (like on a wristwatch). Imprinting is separately enabled/disabled by the MODE button. Push that button until you see a small bar across the top of the display.

If you obtained your camera from a legitimate source, try contacting Canon for technical support. It is also possible that the camera might also need repair.
