In honor of Black History Month... : LUSENET : A Village Commons : One Thread

I would like to quote W. E. B. Dubois, born February 23, 1868, who was one of the founders of the NAACP and the first editor of its magazine, "A little less complaint and whinning, and a little more dogged work and mainly striving would do us more credit than a thousand civil rights bills." I would like to take this opportunity to salute the African Americans in my life who have not complained or whinned, who have worked doggedly, who have striven, and who have given me a greater understanding of what truly makes character.

Too bad Jesse Jackson and some other so called leaders have never read this truism.
