Bulb mode with eos 600

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Hello,

I've got an eos 600 but I don't know how to change the time with the bulb mode. I've tried to take a few photos yesterday but the time was about 1 or 2 seconds and I would like to changge the time to 60 seconds and more.

Does someone know how to do it?

I'm french so try not to use to difficult words in the answer...

Thanks a lot

I'm not sure about the EOS-600 but the recent EOS models offer bulb in manual mode, the setting dialed in after the longest shutter time is bulb. Might be the same/similar with EOS-600.

Gui,

In A, Tv or Program mode you can change the time up to 30 seconds.

In M (manual) mode you keep turning the control dial beyond 30 seconds and get the BULB setting. In this mode the shutter stays open as long as you keep the shutter button pressed down. The shutter closes as soon as you release the button.

I will point out that with all EOS 1 series cameras, the EOS 3, and possibly the 600s also, bulb is a separate mode to manual. IE, the exposure modes on the EOS 3 are P, Tv, Av, M, DEP and Bulb (since it does not have the PIC programs).

Pardon, ma français; c'est trés mal :-(

If you are interested, perhaps you could help translate for the EOS documentation project. How about starting with the new manual for the EOS 50 / Elan II by Jim Strutz?
