Starting apple tree seeds?

If I grow trees from the seeds I get from the apple you buy in the store what will be the out come?someone told me It wont be the same as the apple in which it came from,Is this true? Thank you,Pam

Pam, from what I understand, this is true. Apples give off many seeds showing the divesity of their ancestors, not necessarily the wonderful flavour, crispness, or size of the apple that you obtained the seeds from. Nursery people grow apple tree seedlings and then graft on a cultivated species with desired characteristics from a cutting. They grow this combination as an apple tree for sale. I hope this helps.
