What are some of your skills that you could share with the board?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A Country Singletree : One Thread

We are beginning to run out of topic ideas for discussion threads and were wondering what some of you could post as educational fodder for us. Unless you want to hear a lot about spinning , worms or maybe "spinning worms" (which wouldn't go over well with PETA :>) So, lets hear what you do and maybe it will grow into the "Tip of the Day" catagory.

I used one of my skills just last night. I called a tow truck rescue team (he was cute too, AND called me honey) to come unlock my car for me. Cost $40. (Sorry Susan, I'll get serious later) :)

So now which skill did you say you used?

Hee hee hee....

Skill #1 I figured out how to get into my locked car without a key (call somebody who has the tools to it). :) Skill #2 Only call wrecker service with nice guys working for them. Skill #3 Only lock yourself out of the car when in town near a phone and phone book. Learned Skill #1 Don't leave home without checks in the checkbook, the wreaker guys want to be paid. He had to follow me to an ATM so I could pay him. Now, before you say anything, the spare key was in my purse, also locked in the car. At least this time the car wasn't running and sitting next to a gas pump.

Susan,

Now I would have been really impressed with your skill if he was cute, called you honey and you didn't have to pay the $40.00. Now that's skill. - Sheryl

You girls work too hard. I "paid" my wrecker driver once with some of my garden fresh tomatoes and a taste of homemade wine. He DIDN'T call me "honey" and set me up with his sister (and she had her own tow dolly and we dated for a year and a half :>)

Tip @ 1 get a spare key and hide it under the car!! Cheaper than the tow bill LOL!

You could have still practiced your skills but saved yourself $40 if you'd called the police instead of the tow truck people. They have the skill and tools to unlock car doors. Or perhaps you should invest in AAA.

Wishing you enough.

How about suggesting a topic list (is that what you are asking for?) and then getting people to find info. on it or web sites that talk on the subject. Sort of like a book discussion, where a topic is posted and people contribute to it by finding source of information to further the topic.

One topic I could suggest, would be, what are the signs/symptoms between a viral and bacterial eye infection in animals.

This is something that has been posted twice on the other forum, regarding pinkeye.

Another subject could be, a good way to increase the number of herb plants you have. Say you have one and want to make as many as possible from it. Is root diviision best, cuttings better, or wait for seeds. Of course it depends on the herb but there are classes of herbs that do best with each method.
