Any Beef Heart recipes?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread

When I was a little girl (many, many years ago) my mother cooked beef heart in many diffirent ways. It was cheap and she raised four children with it three times a week. My question is: How do you prepareit? Seems to me she sliced it and fried it. Have a hankering for it, would appreciate any input. Thanks!

We have a beef heart in our freezer and beings that we just got a rotisserie, we're going to cook it in there. Don't know how we'll season it yet. Never had one before, I hear it's good. We've got a tongue too, never had that either, but I hear that's really good, might try the rotisserie on it. What do you tink?

My mother used to make stuffed beef heart. She would make her favorite bread stuffing and cut the beef heart in half but not quite all the way through and stuff. She would then season it and cook it just like a roast. I was never very fond of beef heart but made this way, it wasn't too bad.

Thanks, gave me some good ideas. Just hoping I can convince the kids this is a treat! They look dubious...!
