Garden sized temporary greenhouse ( Construction)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Found some 2 x 2 lumber frameworks 10 ft long by 2 ft wide with rung supports every two ft along the length. Combined 12 of these panels, one top runner as used in chain link fencing, some salvaged screen panels for end pieces, 20 cheap bungee cords to hold it all together, heavy dropcloth plastic and 4 t posts for corner anchors to erect a temporay green house over the SFG. Looks like the poormans greenhouse on steroids , but it allows in ground planting and can easily be stored until next season after frost threat is gone.

Small Farmers Journal had a big article about a similar greenhouse with plans and instructions. They used it over greens to get earlier harvest. Looks like a great idea.

Jay did you see the post, maybe yesterday, about the free plastic source? Mattress stores, check it out. How much do you figure you spent on this, if you bought everything from scratch?

Thanks, Susan
