Hmmm....water into wine eh? Don't you just use the fruit juces?

I never did boil any water that I added to the must to adjust specific gravity or if I used some concentrate.

Boil the water for a kit wine?? I never do, never lose a batch either. Our well water is tested every month or two though.

I use bottled spring water or even tap water. Boiling isn't required.Just use clean uncontamiinated water. If its good enough for drinking its good enough for winemaking generally.

The only time you would need to boil your water is if it is unfit to drink. The only exception is that sometimes water that is fit to drink might be high in iron and this will cause a haze to your wine. It will not clear on its own, but fining agents will help.

Anyone ever had a bottle of drinking water just sit unused for a couple of weeks, and end up tasting a bit odd (or off)? Boiling it doesn't take that much effort. While I wouldn't bother with drinking water unless I was storing it for years, I would definitely take the effort to give wine (or beer) every chance.
