Uzbek melon seeds - where can I find them?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

A few years back, my local supermarket carried Uzbek melons. These melons have about the same color and surface texture and diameter as canteloups, but are from one to one and a half feet long. They are very sweet and juicy and probably don't travel very well.

The melons haven't reappeared in recent years, and I can't find where to buy seeds. Any suggestions?

You might try contacting Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York, http://www.uzbekconsul.org/en/business.htm

They are delicious melons, aren't they? I had some summer before last on a trip to Russia. I will try and remember to buy one and save some seeds from it on my trip this summer. I would be glad to send you some when if it all works out.
