I recently bought a DVD player (before I was into the whole burning VCDs and SVCDs, so I bought a pretty cheap one. It cost me $120 bucks (after a discount) at the local Best Buy. It is a Samsung DVD-M301. On the box it says it plays DVDs, CDs, and MP3 CDs. With a "MP3 Decoder" stick under the power button. Anyway ... this player has played every DVD, VCD, SVCD, xVCD, and xSVCD I have thrown at it. I haven't done much VCD authoring (no capture card) but I do burn images from NGs, and they have all played fine.

Just a bit of info for the people here, it doesn't have tons of features, but has zoom and angle, which IMO are the 2 major ones that many players lack.

Now it's up to about $140 (for this week) ...

Thanks ...

The Samsung DVD-P401 has all of that, but is a little stripped down feature-wise.

That's good to know, but Apex makes some players that cost less that can do the same as your Samsung and some Apex and Sampo models can have the firmware hacked to play DVDs from any region and your model can not.
