I live in southwest Missouri and am looking for some tobacco seed to grow in our area. I would like to make tobacco plugs or loose snuff of some kind. Thanks for your help. Marilyn

I did a search on Tobacco on the Park Seed website and they have 10 different flowering tobacco. Do they all flower? What variety is best for different uses. The site has loads of pictures but you'd probably have to find someone who knows the history of the plant. www.parkseed.com Huge site and you can sign up for a catalog in the mail. Good source. Marilyn, I make my own cigarettes. I buy the tubes and I have the little machine that stuffs the tobacco into the tubes. I had once thought of growing tobacco, until I saw what's involved! -G- I'd rather pay the 70¢/pack!

What kind of tobacco seeds are u looking for?? Cigar tobacco is diffrent then cigerette types! years ago i grew tobacco myself cigar type Let me know ill check on seeds for u!!! The most important part of starting from seed the ground must be sterel!! We bought our plants !! But i watched um steam the beds sow the seeds and then they covered the beds with white muslin to keep out the birds and weeds!

Grandpaw made his own plug he used the tobacco leaf dryed apples and sorgum molasses!! He made it in a wooden box that he layerd the above in there and pressed it by adding weight to the top!! Best plug tobacco in Arkansas LOL
