iris shutter?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I am trying to find iris shutters for an art project. They can be anywhere from 3 - 6 inches in diameter. They are not for a projector, I just need the shutters.

Anybody know where I can get these (around 80 - 100) and how much they cost?

thanks

Give Edmund Scientific a try. I know they have them, but I don't know what sizes they have. I take that back. I just went to the website, www.scientificsonline.com and they do have them, but only up to a 30mm opening. At least that is all that is listed online. Give them a call, they may have something else, or know someone who does.

Ali, let's start by clarifying a point: were you wanting a leaf (shutter) or an iris (diaphragm)? The latter, once opened to a desired opening, will stay there. The shutter won't. It snaps closed again. With that cleared up: you might check the B&H catalog.

I need one that opens and closes manually so you can see more and less when you peer in.

the manual lever should hang below so the device looks almost like a large lollipop. --
