My opinion on posting

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church (Real) : One Thread

I want to give my opinion on this thing of who can post. Now this is not MY forum so take what I say with a grain of salt.

A forum or a list does well if people are free to post their thoughts. There is stuff I don't want to read and as was suggested I can simply ignore those posts. However, when sinful *fussing* goes on that will kill a list. I, for one, will leave a list or forum where people attack one another continuously. Those people are not Christians and have NOT in their hearts the fruit of the Spirit. Christ will not dwell in a person's heart if he is not following Him in his behavior.

I have an email list with about 123 members. I don't bother those people unless they began to attack each other. My motto is: attack the belief and not the believer.

I do think that certain subjects that go on and on without making a dent in the thinking of others (such as water baptism) need to be put on hold for awhile. The reason is that the people associated with the RM can go on and on foreveeeeeer on baptism, IM, etc. We are an arguing bunch. The reason for that is that we are biblical literate and usually know the Bible well. Notice the scripture: "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." We can no more quit talking about our Father and His word to us, than we can go days without eating physical food. When I see someone who never wants to discuss the Father and His scriptures I see someone who has his heart filled with something beside the Holy Scriptures.

Well, that is my sermon today. They won't let me preach in *church* so I do it on email.:-)

Love to you all,

I had another thought. There seem to be people who join a list of those whom they KNOW disagree with them and stay to stir up trouble. I have never understood why anyone would join and stay on a list, for instance lists that are of the RM strain, knowing full well what they believe about certain things.

Once I joined a Baptist email list. They did not want to hear what I had to say about entrance into the body of Christ and seeing I was not going to accomplish anything, I left them in peace to discuss what was interesting to them.

I have seen people stay on Church of Christ lists for months on end and nothing that was said, even upheld by scripture, made a dent in their paradigms. Yet, they continued to stay on and talk.

Probably because CoC/RM mis-uses Scripture so much....YOUR private interpretation means SQUAT! Your preconceived ideas mean...SQUAT!

2 Peter 1:20,21

(I luv the thinly veiled boasting about your denomination...as though others DON'T know their Bible well...yet you say you won't stay where people 'attack' others...."Those people are not Christians and have NOT in their hearts the fruit of the Spirit".... LOL; What irony!)

You will notice I did not attack you or anyone on this list. I attacked the doctrine of Once saved always saved and The sinners prayer of asking Christ to come into one's heart.

Big difference!!

no one cares about your opinion...opinions don't matter.

Quit trying to fit God into your mold; it never works and you will be very sorry you tried.

I am always amused at those who post under a false name and then say anything they wish to say.:-) There is no accountability when that happens. Well, we may not know who you are but rest assure God knows and keeps account of our actions.
