For those looking for comfrey root cuttings, there is an ad for them in the March/April 2002 Countryside issue, page 59.

To learn more about comfrey see if your local library can arrange to borrow a copy of Comfrey: Fodder, Foot & Remedy by Lawrence D. Hills. Harder for them to obtain would be Comfrey Report: The story of the world's fastest protein building and Herbal Healer, also by Hills.

I planted root cuttings out in my pasture and apparently every time a leaf comes up, the heifers lop it off.

Ken, try palnting it on the outside fenceing of your pasture. This might give it a chance to establish and spread to the inside of the fencing.
