Hi Nickie, Yes, I am from southeast Iowa. Wapello, how about you?

-- Sher in se Iowa (, February 03, 2002.

We're in Northcentral Iowa, where are you?

-- Anna in Iowa (, February 03, 2002.

Nickie, I'm in the Ames area, but since I live 3 hrs. from my farm, I can't really live the Homesteader lifestyle... YET!

I live on 40 acres in Colorado but grew up in Keokuk. Learned most of my homesteading skills from parents. Still visit mother there once a year.

Hi, we're from NE Iowa. Welcome!

We are in SE IA also. Keokuk is where I grew up but now live in an even smaller town. Personally they can't get too small for me.

I live in Ames and I'm originally from NE IA. I grew up on a dairy farm and hope to be able to move back to the country some day.

Hi, We live just 20 miles to the South of Des Moines. Are we homesteaders? No animals but lots of garden. Jean

-- Jean (, February 04, 2002.

we're just over the border in sw wisconsin....20 minutes to Iowa, more or less....

From SW Iowa, its better than some points to the north and not as good as Missouri, where they know how to do a few things right and keep their taxes lower. The majority of Iowans are too hooked on their 99 court houses and their 371 school districts and their "wonderful roads" to ever get serious in this lifetime about real tax reform. Welcome to the welfare state.

I'm in SE Iowa, near Mt. Pleasant. I love it here!
