P67 / 645 Converter

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

I'm in the early stages of thinking about purchasing a P645 (original type) as a back-up for my 67. I've always loved the P645 and now, probably due to the N and N2 versions being available, the 2nd hand prices have dropped considerably.

I would use my 45, 90 and 165 P67 lenses on the P645 using the converter that is available. Question is.... does the converter for the Pentax 645 (a) alter the focal length of the P67 lenses (b) is infinity focus retained and (c) is there any 645 modes or functions that are not available when using the P67 lenses?

Also any users out there - what are your experiences of using this set-up, will I feel the need to buy P645 lenses eventually if I really get to like the P645 camera over the P67?

Tony,

Though it's a review of the new 645NII, it contains the answer to your questions about using a 645 as a second body for the 67.

Thanks Michael, your article suggests that Pentax have considered this aspect from day 1 of their design of both cameras. Thanks for the response and the great web site (nice pictures).
