Poultry auction (a plug for www.eggbay.com)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I don't know if this is frowned upon or not on this forum, but, I just recently found eggbay.com and think its great. I may be telling you all something you've already known about for a while, but I thought I'd throw it out here anyway. It's the only place I've found Silver Sebright eggs for sell. And I like the fact that most of the people are just everyday people not huge companies.

Hate to say anything , but sebright eggs are not good eggs to ship. If all you want is a 25% hatch go for it. And thats with luck. If you are talking about Calico Farms thats as good as you get. And you will get the best eggs you will find from them. They are honest people. Rog

Rog, why do Sebright eggs not ship well? I've never shipped these, but I sell on Eggbay and have had people tell me that they have had 100% of my Mille Fleur eggs hatch a couple of times. This isn't usual for shipped eggs, I think normally it's around 70% because of the trauma of the shipping process, but even that is acceptable if you want just a few birds of a different bloodline, or rare birds that you can't get anywhere else.
