Crafting Tip of Day - Yarn Conversion Chartgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread |
When knitting and crocheting it gets confusing with how much yarn you need because it seems either the yarn comes in grams and the pattern calls for ounces...or the pattern calls for grams and your yarn comes in ounces. Here is a quick chart to convert it both ways so you always purchase the correct amount and you don't have to be a mathamatician-- just add them up and round it off!
CONVERTING OUNCES TO GRAMS:
1 ounce = 28.4 grams
2 ounces = 56.7 grams
3 ounces = 85 grams
4 ounces = 113.4 grams
CONVERTING GRAMS TO OUNCES:
25 grams = 7/8 ounce
40 grams = 1 2/3 ounces
50 grams = 1 3/4 ounces
100 grams = 3 1/2 ounces
