greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Hello. I'm looking for a used or new (but given budget this may not be a reality)MV because being a teenager I only really have 10-15 thousands dollars to spend(including shipping and any anticipated maitnance). I live in south Florida and would like to purchase the bike as soon as possible. If you are interesed in selling your MV please contact me at ryculopti@aol.com

Thanx for your time! Ryan (aspiring MV rider)

Damn, your a lucky teenager to have 10/15k on hand. Even luckier if you can afford full coverage insurance for an MV at your age, keep up the chase, I'm sure you'll find one. You may look into buying one that has light crash damage with a salvaged title, and fix it a little at time in your spare time. This way you would be able to find one for 10k or less and then take your time and money as it comes.

I've got a 2001 F4S 1+1 and a 2002 Senna on the way. No need for both bikes, but 15K is a little light. My bike has the updated chip, throttle body, oil filter, heat shield for the lower, and will soon have the updated front brake. 100% dealer serviced, never raced, never crashed, adult driven. As you shop and consider 2000 models, make sure you have the new stuff or you will be looking at big $ to get your bike updated. The new throttle bodies have a yellow and a blue paint dot on the outer bank that can be easily seen from the left side of the bike. If you are buying an early 2001 model or 2000 model and the paint dots are present, insist that the seller show you the service receipt verifying that the correct throttle body was purchased; an unscrupulous seller might paint the dots on and try to pull a fast one on you.

The new chip should be number 80068 (If I remember correctly, I'll double check and get back to you.)

There is a recall out for the front brakes that gets them up to snuff.

If the heat shield comes off the right lower, the paint will burn.

Make sure that you have the current oil filter or you will have a smokey experience as oil leaks onto the headers or worse yet smoke the motor.

Be careful, these are fantastic machines but MV is just now getting the kinks worked out of them. I recommend getting a 2001 model or newer, but that may be more than you can spend.
