Rabbit cages

Does anyone know where I can buy good rabbit cages for cheap? I doubt it, but I'm on a budget and I had to try. I need a bunch around the end of March.

You might try advertising in the local paper. I have often had the experience of being contacted by people whose children had raised rabbits as a 4H project. Most of them say something like "Yes, Johnny did very well with his rabbits, but then he turned 15 and the rabbits haven't seen him since. Will you just take these rabbits and/or cages and get them out of our way?"

oops. I forgot to say I live in Wytheville, VA. I might try the paper. I didn't think of that.

Go to your local feed stores and see if anybody is going out of the rabbit business. Usually they have a poster board up somewhere inside with posting of animals or equipment for sale.

make them,,I bought a roll of wire,, and some "J" clips,, I can build a cage for 3dollars,, compared to the 20 I would spend buying the thing

Jessica, There a guy down here in NC south of Rocky Mount that had 4,000 cages for sale for cheap- watering system and feeders included. Making your own is sometimes more expensive than buying used- the wire is expensive stuff. I highly recommend you use hanging cages. Where were you last year when I had 5 (11) compartment cages tied to the top of my truck and no body would buy them for 50 bucks each? (long story) Anyways, Im going to look up his number. E mail if you want it, because I wont put it out public like. I can also get you some sources for cheaper places to but wire, feeders, etc, and plans for cages that work.

Find out why the cages are for sale like did all the rabbits die? If you do buy used really clean and disinfect really well. You don't want the problems if the rabbits that used to live in them died due to disease. gail
