canning hamburger

I have alot of burger to put up,, wanted to make "hamburgers" then stack ina jar and can them,, but now i cant find anytihing on it. CAn I can it without adding the water/broth ?Didnt want to have to "recook" them afterwards

You process it like any other meat. You can prefroma dn fry or grill the bergers and you don't have to put any oil or broth in with them. I would use a wide mouth jar to make bigger bergers.

Another consideration, make hamburger sausage and store in a freezer. Unless you are running out of freezer room.

Stan what you are describing is exactly what we did pre Y2K. Wanted to know if we were going to loose the freezer that other than ice cream, nothing would go to waste and I could can everything. I used the jar lids to make the sausage patty size fried them and processed them according to directions in my canner book. You can also brown hamburger or sausage, pack lightly in jars and process this also, the juice makes really good gravy, eat over toast. Vicki
