What music do the rest of you like? (Over the fence chat)

Tonite , while audio messaging with a cyberquantence on Yahoo, our conversation gravitated toward music tastes. It was interesting to find that she and I shared similar tastes in music, even though we are from totally different cultures (it was a real trip hearing an extremly heavy European accent that was highly knowledgable on CCR and Fogertey.

Anyhow, I figured this would be a good topic of discussion for us here. I like the bands of the mid 60s (Cream,Cocker, Hendrix, Stones) through the 70s (CCR,Aerosmith,Pink Floyd,Cooper,Bad Company, Seger, Walsh, BTO, Stevie Nicks)and into the 80s (Collins, Warrent, Stones, Aerosmith & Seger again, Fogertey ("old man..." drove me nuts cause I knew EVERY CCR cut, but I didn't know that one), Mellencamp ,Leyda Ford and Jeff Heeley Band). I always figured my musical tastes were a product of the curse of being one of the "hang fires" at the end of the Baby Boom generation :>). What are your tastes in music?

Hi Guys! What a great question, even though the answer is as broad as it is long for me--I was--and that probably should be in parentheses, WAS, a classicaly trained musician, and played classical music for many years. However,I listen mostly to country and bluegrass now. Oldies sometimes, and occassionaly a symphony.

Classical,Mozart, YoYo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Baila(sp) Fleck,Alison Kraus, Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, Cheryl Wheeler,Neal and Leandra, Dave "Snaker" Ray, Spidar John Kerner(sp),anything folk, blugrass. My interests are pretty wide. I absolutly loved the Winnepeg Folk Festival! We have a really great radio station here. It is a community radio station, pretty much run by volunteers. Anyone can listen to it via the internet. They audiostream at KAXE.org. Check their programming guide each night it is something different. And each volunteer plays their own stuff, no format here.

Listening to Oldies as we speak, like some country, bluegrass, and on and on, a little bit of every thing. Don't necessarily listen to the lyrics, but home in on the melodies.

Hello Jay,

We like bluegrass and country music mostly. I play harmonica and banjo also. We do listen to many types of music especially latin, I have a large collection of afro-cuban that I enjoy immensely, especially now, since living in the Ozarks. Probably the only thing I miss about living where we use to in Orlando, Florida has been the latin music and culture. Though Orlando has a smaller population of Latins than Miami, I would make up the difference on my many trips to Miami over the years.

Sincerely,

Ernest
