There is a lot of buzz in the air about telemarketing, and tighter controls over when and with whom they can conduct business. Is government intervention really needed, or can we rely on this sector to regulate itself?

In Tennessee we have a list. Anyone can get on the list. If you are on that list and a telemarketer still calls, then they are hit with a hefty fine. Telemarketing calls in Tennessee have went way down! I think that this is a good thing. If you want the calls, dont get on the list. If you dont want them, get on the list. Simple. And no one is forcing you to do either.
