Thank you, to everyone who shared your information with me about heifers delivering their calves! Yesterday we went to check on our heifers, and just as you all said one did not come to the feeders! We started looking for her and found her and the calf under the pines as far away from the others as she could get(just as you all said she would do)! It isn't moving around too much but we have noticed it nursing and the heifer has MORE than enough milk! Now we are waiting on the other two to deliver!

It's has been almost three weeks since the start of the bloody discharge and with out all your help I would ahve been ready to call a vet.

Unless you will band a bull, pretty well leave them along. She will bring up the calf when she is ready. Even if the heifer is very gentle, the calf may well be skitish.

Seeing a newborn calf get plugged in the first time sure is a pretty site.
