I just get 2 Chambers model B stoves and will be making one stove in the near future. Does anyone have a Chambers? Any tips for cooking? According to the Idle Hour cookbook I can make ice cream in the deep well and cook on the stove... has anyone tried this?

The Chambers Stove can be seen on the Cooking Channel, On the earlier episodes of Mario Malta & a current show that I can't recall the host. This weeks 1/19/03 Sunday paper magazine section had a story about a guy who found a rare commercial size Chambers, he paid $17,000 for it. I've had mine for years and love cooking on it. ..Happy Cooking!!!

Has anyone encountered problems in installing a Chambers stove in the course of re-modeling a kitchen? Code issues, etc. If so, how have they been solved. Thanks. C.E.

You may have issues depending on the codes in your area. Because the stoves do not have a pilot light in the oven they may get 'red tagged'. You can purchase pilot light kits for the oven though, so if this happens to you there is a solution. Personally, I'm just going to install mine and hope it doesn't get tagged - I don't have children so it's less of a hazard in my house.

On another note, I'm hoping to find a red stove for my parents, Chambers preferred but any brand would probably be ok. Does anyone have one? I am in western New York, so shipping cost is a BIG factor in finding a stove.
