When was the last time----- [preachin]

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

--you walked alongside a country stream, in the springtime?

--you strolled through the woods on a crisp fall morning?

--you looked at an early summer morning sky?

--you listened to the song birds chirping on a spring evening?

--you held a little baby and thanked God for that precious child?

--you wondered how many of His people were going to bed hungry?

--you put a "little extra" into the tithe envelope for the hungry?

--you smelled the woodsmoke on a cold winter morning and cried?

--you were lonesome for the "garden buildin" time to start?

--you just set under the shade trees with your life's pardner, holdin hands and sayin nothing?

--you made "home made" music on the front porch with friends?

--you wished for those long gone days when your family was still around?

--you decided to give your life to Jesus Christ--and didn't back out?

Folks--- all those good and wonderful things we miss from our youth can be relived through "lookin back" into our minds. What a blessing to remember the good times. Jesus is coming back soon. Are you ready? old hoot. Matt.24:44

Very beautiful Hoot! I want you to know I keep you in my prayers, for your health, and also to thank God for good people like you. I never fail to reap some good from your posts, and learn and grow as a person and as a Christian. Thank you very much, my friend!

Thanks Melissa [and andybody else who remembers me in prayer] for the prayers. Some folks assume that I'm "up on a pedistal" and don't need prayer. Quite the contrary! I'm not any better nor any worse than anybody but because of His calling upon my life I probably need prayer more than most folks. I'm not too smart and sometimes get wrapped up in this calling that I fail to mention often enough that I'm just a normal human very much in need of prayer.

I've been walkin this road a long time and it seems to get more intense as time goes on. Most of the problems in this life that I encounter are because of something stupid that I have done. When we get to operating on our own merits is when we take our eyes off of Him and stray and sometimes fall into the ditch. Thats' why I attempt to keep my eyes on Christ and strongly urge everybody else to do the same. "Blind leading the blind" so to speak---. Humans will fail us all but Christ will not!

"I would that ye were either hot or cold but because ye are lukewarm I will spew thee out of my mouth"! Lord Jesus--I never want to lukewarm like I used to be. Please help me to change the "cold" part of my life to "hot" for Your Honor, Praise and Glory!
