Plug/Socket connectors for the small decoder wires.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

Does anyone have a source for small plug/socket type connectors for the very small function wires that the decoders use, some that are easy to install and don't take up much space? I'm starting mass installations and would like to standardize on something.

Thanks, Morgan

Not me. If anyone does find connectors they like. I want to know about them! And I will add them to my web page after I've tried them out. SO far, everything I have tried, has presented some sort of drawback that keeps me hardwiring everything eventhough I'd rather use connectors myself.

I have used Modeltronics connectors. They have three pin, up to six pin connectors. They are very delicate to solder. Pre tin your wires and use a good tinned iron at around 30 watts.

Try http://www.jst.com/home8.html, "wire to wire connectors", 2.5mm THR. I haven't tried these, but this looks close to what Digitrax used for their decoder connectors.
