Thought you guys might get a kick out of this:

Hobbit Name Generator

If you scroll about half way down on the left, you can find your elf, orc, or dwarven name.

Mike Mule's hobbit name is Ferdinand Gamgee from Longbottom.

Answers

I knew mules had long noses, but longbottom? LOL

My hobbit name is: Angelica from The Far Downs

Even though I typed in my last name too, it didn't give me one. I guess angels don't need last names. ;-)

And compared to Tricia, I AM pretty 'far down'. :-)

Thanks SteveOH. Looks like I would be "Holfast Chubb from Frogmorton" in Middle Earth. BTW, what a cool movie it was too, don't ya think!

Gayla: LOL, can't wait for our Sweet Princess to check in on this one.

-- Rob Michaels (sonofdust@hobbit.fan), January 22, 2002.

I really liked my Orkish name, which was Warrack the Bad Moon. Look over to the left margin, and find links to Orkish and Dwarf names.

Loved the books 30 years ago, and loved the movie last month!

BTW, anyone who does not tell us their Hobbit name, is liable to have one made up by us.

:-)

Do I see a 'bad moon rising'? ;-) Lon, I think you could write a story with that line. :-) (I enjoyed the movie, too.)

Rob, if anyone called me Chubb, I'd hit 'em. LOL

Oh, I don't know. Doesn't sound much worse than being called ChiefTin ;-)

Wonder if Middle Earth had an FRL ???

Well, first time I put my name in .... it broke the web site.

Then I removed a few letters and whatnot and tried again.

So I ended up finally with a drawfinished ID of "Dain Claylaughter."

It's that dain-burn red Georgia clay I guess that done me in.

I didn't try Sweet Princess of FRL... maybe I should give that one a try ;-)

-- MelilotBurrowsfromStandelf (jayles@telusplanet.net), January 22, 2002.

Well, the Princess is Daisy Willow from Whitforrows. And my first name is Susan, which means Daisy, so I guess that one's pretty close ;-)

-- Tricia the Canuck (jayles@telusplanet.net), January 22, 2002.

Rowan Brandybuck from Bywater-that's me! I, too, have loved the Tolkien series for many years and my children inherited that love. The movie was great (I did have a hard time accepting Agent Smith as Elrond!) I'm looking forward to seeing it again...

-- LindaMc (jmcintyre1@mmcable.com), January 23, 2002.

Longbottom??

Gem Maggot of Dwaling?

-- helen (you@called.me.what?), January 23, 2002.

Oh, I just can't stand it. Why should ole J. R. R. have all the fun? Here's a couple I came up with on the quick. I'm sure we can add to the list:

Crump Stubwattle of Drizzeldown

Humpy Dumpleman from Wartbottom

Millett Mossbrow of Damphill Downs

Winnie Waddlebottom of Stouthollow

------------

-- Lon Frank (lgal@exp.net), January 25, 2002.

Why or wide do I suspect Winnie resides in a double-wide?

-- R. A. Cook, PE (Marietta, GA) (racookpe@earthlink.net), January 25, 2002.

Lon, those are too funny!! :-D I'm gonna see if I can think of some good ones to add to the list...

-- Tricia the Canuck (jayles@telusplanet.ent), January 26, 2002.

My name On the Orkish sounds weird.... Lugukh the nasty My middle earth name is Sorrwful Bounder And My Hobbit name is Prisca Maggot from The Far Downs

Why the bad names

-- Denise (Goldenchick07@yahoo.com), April 03, 2002.

Hmmmmn?

Far down under?

-- R. A. Cook, PE (Marietta, GA) (racookpe@earthlink.net), April 04, 2002.

Nevsirion the elf. I like it Bolo Burrows from Tuckborough, very catchy itself

-- Josh Langer (TomCatJTL@yahoo.com), December 24, 2002.

depends which Hobbit name enerator you use but Chubb seems to be the business unless I'm an orc in which case I'm Gortakh the Depraved. Has a nice ring to it. This reply actually from Middle Earth - NZ

-- Marroc Chubb (tenhoons@hotmail.com), January 04, 2003.

Those dang orcs never could spell. An acquaintance of mine (Gortakh the Depraved) said enerator instead of generator. What an orc! (also from the real Middle Earth - New Zealand)

-- Minto Chubb of Deephollow (weasel@xtra.co.nz), January 04, 2003.

We will forgive the orc, as long as he can get us free tickets to the next movie he stars in in NZ.

I think I would rather have one made up for me than the ones the Hobbit Name generator chose:

Elven Name Possibilities for Aunt Bee The root name suitable for feminine and masculine is: Burzinzil

More feminine versions are: Burzinziliel Burzinzilien Burzinzilwen

Hobbit lass name for Aunt Bee May Proudfoot from Willowbottom

Dwarven Name for Aunt Bee Kór Emeraldmirth This name is for both genders.

Orkish Name for Aunt Bee Grotbog the Stutterer This name is for both genders.

Actually, I kinda like Kor Emeraldmirth-my Irish greatgrandmother would be proud ;))

-- Aunt Bee (Aunt__Bee@hotmail.com), January 04, 2003.

Methinks the orcan evil twin of the name-creator is deaf AND blind.

Else why would he keep pickin' dual gender names for the lucious Auntress Bee?

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (cook.r@csaatl.com), January 04, 2003.

My hobbit name is Gwevyan Long Cleve

-- Kristen (bsbgirl097@aol.com), February 09, 2003.

LOL! My hobbit name is Prisca Goodbody from Willowbottom! Now my friend Sarah has been calling me purty Prisca. It is sooo anoying!
