Sony 725 and DVD-R / RW media

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi

Does anyone know if a Sony 725 dvd player will play DVD-R / DVD-RW media properly. Plenty of web sites claim it can.. But ive failed to find someone who actually has.

Any help/response appreciated

The Sony 725 DOES NOT play DVD-R, at least the media type Pioneer sells: I've verified this and it's so, having clips professionally put onto DVD-R that played okay on Pioneer 301k and 444. It doesn't play CD-R/RW either.

To play any cds like " cdr; dvdr" you must buy a mod chip.
