I have some chopped walnuts in the freezer in a ziploc bag. They now taste like plastic. Do you have any ideas how to get rid of that taste? Ruined some pancakes, I had to try. don't know if letting them sit out and air would be enough.

They have probably turned rancid--in there too long I would imagine. Mine are in the freezer, also, but they are still good after about a year.

I've stored black walnuts in the freezer but in glass jars. I've always used them up before a year. I'd pitch them out.
