Does the Tabor City, NC depot still exist? I would be interested in seeeing any photos (past or present). Scans woul be fine. I never got down the line from Chadbourn to Myrtle Beach. I have seen both ends but never made it to Tabor City nor have I ever seen a picture of it's station.

THe frame freight house at Tabor City, N.C. does indeed still exist, and in one piece. REf: "Directory Of North Carolina's Railroad Structures", 2001 Edition. I am sitting here looking at a contemporary photo of the freight house, which has been restored, but not as yet put to any use.

I can confirm that I saw the depot just after it was cut into 2 sections, in May 1975 - have no details, though, on disposition after that.

Raymond, my best info says the depot was cut into two sections, part went into someone's backyard (presumably in Tabor City) while the other half was connected to a house in Loris, SC. I've never been able to locate either half. Hope this helps.
