Macon Shop Switcher : LUSENET : Central of Georgia Railway Historical Soc : One Thread

I have an old AHM 0-6-0 saddletank engine that has been sitting around here for years, and noticed the simularities to the Macon shop switcher in the latest issue of THE RIGHT WAY. The domes on the roof have to be removed, and the bunker modified, but otherwise is very close, and a workable model. My question is, what is the color of the lettering and the CofG logo on the jacket? Can anyone list a source for these? Thanks!

The standard monogram on steam locomotives had a red background with aluminum lettering. The road numbers were also aluminum. While we don't have a stencil diagram for Maude (Macon shop switcher), the monogram on steam locomotive tenders in later years was stencil No. 114. It measured 48 3/4" wide and 30 1/2" tall.

Although a steam locomotive decal set is in the works (most of it has already been drawn), some HO modelers use the monogram in a Microscale O scale CofGa diesel switcher mini-cal set. I haven't used it, but I'm told it's fairly close.

We're still waiting on Microscale to release the streamlined passenger car sets, so I can't even guess as to when the steam locomotive decals might be done.
