A big THANK YOU to George!greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
Hello forum, this afternoon the UPS truck came to my farm. A box arrived smack full of Mother Earth News magazines from the early 80's. It was a thank-you from George for helping with his stock questions. It was the years I needed to replace the ones lost in storage while we were building our home. How nice was that! The extra touch came with a wonderful card and no return address so that I couldn't even pay him back for postage! Thank you Geroge, you are a gem! Vicki

Hi Vicki.... I have issue #1 to 100 of The Mother Earth News. Right before Y2k, I started indexing them according to articles that were most useful to us. Well, I made it to issue #65. I think this winter I will restart that project and finally get it done. I wish TMEN hadn't changed so much over the years, maybe I would still be a subscriber. My favorite issue was issue #2, from page 7 to 77 was devoted entirely to Ed and Carolyn Robinson's "Have More Plan"...I'm actually reading it now. Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents worth about a once wonderful magazine....Thanks for your time.....Harmony

Yes, if the world only had more Georges in it! I would end up laughing myself to death on all the stories! Hey, but what a way to go!!!!
